The EcoProducts Foundation was setup to run non-profit projects in the areas where baobab fruit are harvested. In addition to buying fruit directly from rural harvesters, the Foundation supports education of pre-school children, growing of baobab trees, research projects and community engagement.
Baobab Tree Guardian
The Baobab Tree Guardian project came to an end in December 2020, we were thrilled to be able to sponsor a tree. Ours grew an impressive 240CM in just two years, it is now near a height where it will be safe from grazing livestock and has an excellent chance of living for the next 1,000 years.
You can see the final measurements and images below.

In November 2017 ProTec Botanica sponsored a Baobab Guardian to plant and look after a Baobab tree.
The tree that we are sponsoring was planted by Julia Rambasa in Tshipise Sagole Village, South Africa. The tree will be measured twice a year so that we can track its progress until it reaches 3 meters in height. By sponsoring the tree, we demonstrate our commitment in bringing sustainable materials to the markets.
